Lopapeysa DVD – the last steps // Lopapeysudiskurinn – síðustu metrarnir

In March we did most of the shooting for my new Lopi sweater knitting DVD, at my great grandmother’s house up in the North of Iceland (in the tiny village Hofsós). Sooo many good things have happened since then – but finally the last steps of the production are being taken.

Here’s the basic info about what you’ll get:

  • A little documentary about the making of lopi – from the sheep to the skein
  • A short history of the Lopapeysa
  • Lot’s of Icelanders happily going around wearing their Lopapeysa’s
  • Instructional part where I take you through the knitting of 3 different Lopapeysa’s (including the dreaded steeking part)

The three patterns are: a classic mans sweater (picture above), the Freyja cardigan and a top-down children’s sweater. All patterns will be made available on the Knitting Iceland site as free downloads.

The language selection includes Icelandic and English.

Jæja lopadiskurinn er alveg að verða tilbúinn. Tökurnar fóru fram í húsi langömmu minnar á Hofsósi í mars, og eftir sjúklegar annir á árinu er loksins verið að ljúka framleiðsluferlinu.

Aðeins um efnið á disknum:

  • Lítil heimildarmynd um það hvernig lopi verður til
  • Stutt ágrip af sögu lopapeysunnar
  • Fullt af glöðum íslendingum í lopapeysum
  • Kennslukafli þar sem ég fer í gegnum þrjár ólíkar lopapeysur (þar með talið að sauma og klippa)

Uppskriftirnar þrjár verður hægt að sækja ókeypis á vef Knitting Iceland. Þær eru: klassísk karlapeysa (myndin að ofan), peysan Freyja og barnapeysa prjónuð að ofan.

Diskurinn kemur út á íslensku og ensku.
