Stitches West – the teaching, the teachers

My first Stitches in Santa Clara, February 2012. Such AMAZING and fun experience. A few points and memories:

ALL my classes filled up. That totally blew me away. Reviews were excellent so hopefully I’ll be back!

The other teachers were super nice to the newbie. I connected with a lot of friends I adore and respect, such as Annie Modesitt, Cookie A, Elise Duvekot, Marly Bird, Beth Brown-Reinsel and Gwen Bortner and made fabulous new ones such as Myra Wood (energetic lace genius), Leslye Solomon (glamorous, witty, warm), Chris Bylsma (soon to be Iceland lover), Sandi Rosner (clever, clever sippy cup red wine woman), JC Briar (info central for Stitches teachers on two feet), Janel Laidman (would have DIED for getting into her spinning class), Sivia Harding (sweetest ever), Drew Emborsky (yes that is the Crochet Dude), Susanna Hanson (legendary… and we spoke Swedish while sipping vodka tonics), and Carson Demers (oooh I so want to take his class on knitting ergonomics). Ok, enough with the name dropping now… but to my defense I will say once more that these people are all amazing and it was a true privilege to get to hang out with them. Plus all the others!

The XRX gang was fabulous, so insanely well organized, friendly and helpful.
